Print Services

Print Services Source

The Faculty of Education has aligned with Xerox Global Services (XGS) in support of UBC’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) and Sustainability Academic Strategy (SAS). The goal is create a sustainable, easier, and less expensive way to produce documents in the Faculty. Please take the time to visit the Xerox website.

Faculty and staff may request print orders or graphic design services via Xerox’s web-to-print portal.

Printing, Photocopying & Copyright Approval

UBC has decided not to sign a license with Access Copyright. UBC will be under greater scrutiny from Access Copyright and copyright owners generally and it is critical that UBC faculty members, staff and students continue to be aware of, and comply with, UBC’s Copyright Guidelines and applicable copyright laws.

We encourage all faculty members and staff to visit the Copyright website to become familiar with Canada’s copyright requirements and their obligations as users of copyrighted materials.

How can I obtain copyright approval?

Course packs prepared and printed by the UBC Bookstore prior to August 31, 2011, were produced under the Access Copyright interim tariff and can be retained.

Any future course packs should continue to be produced through the UBC Bookstore. Please note, however, that additional lead time might be necessary to obtain copyright approvals after September 1, 2011. For assistance, please contact the UBC Bookstore (see below for contact information).

  1. Obtain Journal Voucher (JV) from your dept/unit or obtain details of your department’s standing order then submit to the Bookstore with materials that require copyright approval.
  2. Once copyright approval is obtained, the Bookstore will forward print requests directly to Xerox. Custom course materials will be delivered back to the Bookstore for point of sale.
